The Best OP01 Cards to Invest In (2026): Every Romance Dawn Chase Variant, in PSA 10
On this page
The best OP01 card to invest in is the Alt Art Leader Monkey D. Luffy #OP01-003 — the first Leader alternate art the One Piece TCG ever printed, from the game's 2022 origin set, with verified PSA 10 sales at $5,160 and prints to $6,600 in early 2026. Romance Dawn is where every One Piece collection starts, and its chase class is priced below from real PSA-graded sold comps: 53 tracked variants across the Leader alt arts, SECs, SPs, and alternate arts that carry OP01 numbers.
One Piece pricing has a rule Pokémon collectors need a minute to absorb: the variant is the card. OP01-003 exists as a base Leader ($1,288), a Japanese alt art ($300), and the English Alt Art Leader ($5,160) — same number, three assets separated by 17x. OP01 adds a second wrinkle: as the origin set, its card numbers are the most reprinted in the game — 25th Anniversary sets, Premium Boosters, Gift Collections, and tournament promos all reuse them — and every one of those is a separate product, labeled as such in the tracker. This guide is one chapter of the One Piece investing guide.
What Is the Most Expensive OP01 Card?
The Alt Art Leader Monkey D. Luffy #OP01-003 in English— the parallel-art version of the Straw Hat Leader from the game's very first booster, and the card that defines the origin-set premium. When Romance Dawn launched in December 2022, Leader alt arts didn't exist anywhere else; owning this card means owning the first one. The verified tape runs $4,920 in November 2025 to a pair of $6,600 prints in February and March 2026, with $5,160 the current fair market value:

Real sold comps from CardboardSniper's pricing engine · 8 sales(eBay & Fanatics).
One honesty note on that chart: two of the eight archived sales are Chinese-language copies of the same card — they are the sub-$500 prints at the tape's edges, and they trade at a tenth of the English price. And if you search "most expensive OP01 card," you'll also find a bigger number: the serialized Championship Top Prize Shanks /1000, a tournament promo that shares the OP01-120 number and sold for $11,400in February 2026. It is a separate product — 1,000 serialized copies handed out as event prizes, not a booster pull — which is exactly why it isn't in the set tracker. Same story for the Treasure Cup Top 8 Zoro promo on the OP01-025 number, at $5,220. For the full Luffy picture across every set, see the Luffy investing guide.
What Is Every OP01 Chase Card Worth?
The full tracker: every variant carrying an OP01 card number with a verified PSA-graded comp, sorted by number — English and Japanese printings as separate rows, because they trade at different prices. Rows carrying a product name (25th Anniversary, Premium Best, Film Red, Gift Collection, box toppers, Battle Winner promos) are later products that reuse OP01 numbers — separate assets, tracked as such. A dash means no verified PSA 10 sale yet; for those cards the PSA 9 column is the only live market, and a 10 always prices above the 9 of the same card.

What Are the OP01 Leader Alt Arts Worth?
Luffy $5,160, Law $1,269, Zoro $975— the game's first three Leader alternate arts own the top of the origin set. Every later set printed Leader parallels; OP01 printed the template. Below them sits the set's second story: Boa Hancock. Her OP01-078 alt art is the set's deepest non-Leader chase at $1,350on ten verified gems, and the SP-frame versions of the same number — inserts from 2023's Kingdoms of Intrigue that carry the OP01 number — trade right beside it at $1,230 English and $1,320 Japanese. The chase ladder:

Real sold comps from CardboardSniper's pricing engine · 10 sales(eBay & Fanatics).
A caution that applies to the whole set: because sellers title OP01 cards loosely, the Boa tape carries some noise — a few of its prints are Kingdoms of Intrigue SP listings rather than the 2022 alt art. The cluster from $1,350 to $1,740 through 2026 is the real market. The manga-art cards you may expect here — manga Nami, manga Zoro — are not in the 2022 booster at all: they come from the 2024 Premium Booster ($1,260 for the Japanese manga Nami) and the 25th Anniversary sets, and the tracker labels them by product.
How Much Is a Graded OP01 Shanks Worth?
It depends entirely on which OP01-120 you mean — the number spans four assets from $324 to $11,400.The English SEC alt art, the set's iconic secret rare, is the accessible one: $324 in PSA 10 against $73 in PSA 9, on a hand-verified tape:

Two more OP01-120s live outside the 2022 booster: the 2024 Premium Booster manga alt art — a separate product at $2,300 in PSA 10 and $1,690 in PSA 9 — and the serialized /1000 Top Prize promo at $11,400. And one number we deliberately don't print: the English "Manga Rare" bucket in our archive showed a PSA 10 below its own PSA 9 — Premium Booster reprint listings polluting 2022-titled sales — so it was quarantined rather than published. The residual "Alt Art Shanks" rows in the tracker ($79 English, $576 Japanese) carry the same title noise around the SEC alt art; treat the verified SEC tape above as ground truth. The full character story is in the Shanks investing guide.
Are English or Japanese OP01 Cards Worth More?
English — and by the widest margins in the game.Romance Dawn's English print run landed in December 2022, before the Western boom, so English chase supply from the origin set is uniquely thin, while Japanese print runs were far larger across the board. We track the English market: every price on this page is an English printing.
Is OP01 a Good Investment?
Here is the honest framing this market deserves. The One Piece TCG is four years old and has never traded through a bear market. The Japanese manga Shanks's 2x year and the Alt Art Leader Luffy's five-figure trajectory are real and verified — and exactly the kind of moves young markets produce in both directions. What the bulls have: origin-set status (there will never be another first One Piece set), the first Leader alt arts ever printed, and the biggest anime IP on earth compounding PSA submissions every month. What the bears have: no downturn survival data; the heaviest reprint pressure in the game, since Anniversary sets, Premium Boosters, and promos keep reissuing OP01 numbers (the $2,300Premium Booster manga Shanks is a different asset than anything in the 2022 set, but it competes for the same collector dollar); and thin order books — several top rows price on one or two comps, and Chinese copies bleed into English listings at the very top. Size positions like it's venture, not bonds. Nothing here is financial advice.
OP01 FAQ
What is the most expensive OP01 card?
The Alt Art Leader Monkey D. Luffy #OP01-003 in English — a $5,160 fair market value in PSA 10, with $6,600 prints in early 2026. The serialized /1000 Championship Top Prize Shanks, a separate tournament promo sharing the OP01-120 number, sold for $11,400 in February 2026.
Does OP01 have Manga Rares?
Not in the English booster. The only manga-art card in the 2022 set itself is the Japanese SEC manga Shanks #OP01-120, at $1,050 in PSA 10. The other manga arts carrying OP01 numbers — manga Nami, manga Zoro, the $2,300 Premium Booster manga Shanks — come from later products (2024 Premium Booster, 25th Anniversary sets) and are separate assets.
Are Japanese OP01 cards worth less than English?
Yes — by 4x to 17x on the same alt art, the widest language gaps in the game. Japanese print runs were far larger, and OP01's English launch predates the Western boom, so origin-set English chase supply is uniquely thin.
How many OP01 chase cards are there?
We track 53 variants with verified graded comps — Leader alt arts, SECs, SPs, and alternate arts across English and Japanese printings, plus the labeled reprint products that reuse OP01 numbers. The complete PSA 10 chase run totals about $22,458.
