Neo Destiny Pop Report (2026): PSA 10 Population for Every Shining, Dark, and Light Card
On this page
There are 3,045 PSA 10 Neo Destiny cards across the 17 printings with exact GemRate population chains — out of 41printings our index tracks — and this page lists every one of them, with the gem-mint price next to each count. Neo Destiny is where the WOTC numbered era ended: the last set printed with a 1st Edition stamp, closed out by eight Shining cards numbered past the checklist itself (#106–#113 of 105). PSA's own population report now sits behind a login; ours is free, built on exact GemRate population chains, and refreshed monthly. It is one chapter of the full WOTC pop report — and the cost side of the same data lives in what a complete PSA 10 Neo Destiny set costs.
How Many PSA 10 Neo Destiny Cards Exist?
3,045 PSA 10s across the 17 printings where a GemRate chain resolves exactly — the other 24tracked printings don't yet have a verified count, so this census is a floor, not a ceiling. The table below lists every exact count, scarcest first. The pattern worth noticing before you scroll: the rarest gems in Neo Destiny are not the Shinings. The famous eight own the biggest populations in the set, because everyone who ever pulled one graded it — while the Unlimited Dark holos went unslabbed for twenty years.
How Many PSA 10 Shining Charizards Are There?
269 1st Edition and 384 Unlimited — 653 PSA 10 Shining Charizards in existence across both printings, per the July 2026 GemRate snapshot. Here is the full grade pyramid behind the 1st Edition:
1,456 gradings, 269 tens — a 18.5% gem rate, remarkably high for a 2002 holo. That tells you what kind of scarcity this is: Shining Charizard's barrier was never condition, it was pulling the triple-star card at all. Copies that exist were treasured from day one and gem at a high rate — so the $57,600PSA 10 price is rarity of the card itself, not a condition lottery. The Unlimited printing is the set's most-graded card at 7,488 submissions, and it just repriced hard:

The Unlimited Dark Houndoom, at pop 47 — priced at just $746. The 1st Edition Miracle Energy (pop 62, at $600) and 1st Edition Light Arcanine (pop 74, at $9,000) follow. For scale: there are more PSA 10 1st Edition Shining Charizards (269) than the three rarest Neo Destiny gems combined (183). Scarcity in this set lives in the commons-of-the-chase-run nobody graded, and the market still prices most of it like a footnote:

On the Shinings — the cards that ended the WOTC numbered era — populations stay low across both printings, and everywhere an exact chain exists on both sides, the 1st Edition is the rarer printing: Shining Charizard 269 vs 384, Shining Mewtwo 235 vs 299, Shining Steelix 184 vs 312. That is the opposite of Base Set, where the unstamped printings own the low counts. On the Dark holos it flips: the Unlimited Dark Gengar (pop 95) undercuts the 1st Edition (pop 114), and five Unlimited Dark holos are so rarely graded that no PSA 10 has a verified sale on record at all. The side-by-side census — the orange number is the rarer printing:

Which Neo Destiny Cards Are Hardest to Gem?
Gem rate is the other half of a pop report: not how many 10s exist, but what fraction of all submissions earned one. In Neo Destiny the split is stark — the Shinings gem easily (the 1st Edition Shining Charizard runs 18.5%), while the Unlimited Dark holos are brutal:
| # | Card | Gem rate | PSA 10s / total graded | PSA 10 price | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 2002 Neo Destiny Unlimited Dark Typhlosion #10 | 2.5% | 79 / 3,159 | $1,110 | |
| 2 | 2002 Neo Destiny Unlimited Dark Houndoom #7 | 3.9% | 47 / 1,211 | $746 | |
| 3 | 2002 Neo Destiny Unlimited Dark Gengar #6 | 3.9% | 95 / 2,424 | $9,300 | |
| 4 | 2002 Neo Destiny Unlimited Shining Charizard #107 | 5.1% | 384 / 7,488 | $6,300 | |
| 5 | 2002 Neo Destiny Unlimited Shining Tyranitar #113 | 5.7% | 262 / 4,600 | $4,440 | |
| 6 | 2002 Neo Destiny Unlimited Shining Mewtwo #109 | 6.0% | 299 / 4,987 | $3,510 | |
| 7 | 2002 Neo Destiny 1st Edition Light Arcanine #12 | 8.5% | 74 / 871 | $9,000 | |
| 8 | 2002 Neo Destiny Unlimited Shining Steelix #112 | 9.4% | 312 / 3,322 | $1,350 | |
| 9 | 2002 Neo Destiny 1st Edition Light Dragonite #14 | 11.5% | 105 / 910 | $15,600 | |
| 10 | 2002 Neo Destiny 1st Edition Dark Gengar #6 | 12.5% | 114 / 915 | $10,745 |
Every card near the top of that list is a card where the PSA 10 is the trophy and the PSA 9 is the market. If you're weighing a raw submission, the PSA 10 value calculator turns these gem rates into expected value.
Is Neo Destiny Scarcity Priced In?
Not evenly — and that spread is the most useful table on this page. Price divided by PSA 10 population is what the market pays per unit of gem supply:
| Card | PSA 10 price | PSA 10 pop | Price per pop unit |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2002 Neo Destiny 1st Edition Shining Charizard #107 | $57,600 | 269 | $214 |
| 2002 Neo Destiny 1st Edition Shining Mewtwo #109 | $38,400 | 235 | $163 |
| 2002 Neo Destiny 1st Edition Light Dragonite #14 | $15,600 | 105 | $149 |
| 2002 Neo Destiny 1st Edition Light Arcanine #12 | $9,000 | 74 | $122 |
| 2002 Neo Destiny Unlimited Dark Gengar #6 | $9,300 | 95 | $98 |
| 2002 Neo Destiny 1st Edition Dark Gengar #6 | $10,745 | 114 | $94 |
The 1st Edition Shining Charizard costs $214 per unit of supply; the pop-47 Unlimited Dark Houndoom — the rarest gem in the entire set — costs $16, and the Unlimited Shining Steelix just $4. Attention, not census data, sets vintage prices. The full ranked scarcity list across all fifteen WOTC sets is in the 50 rarest WOTC cards, and the Neo Destiny investing guide ranks every card here by the numbers.
